she ended it.

headlights on a busy street, driving through her memories.

100miles per hour.

going so fast, afraid of crashing too hard.

beating the reds, fighting the signs.

but the signs were obvious, stop.

with tears in her eyes, blinding her sight, she didn’t stop.

suddenly her best friend was in the passenger seat,

she tried to clear her sight, as they passed countless more stop signs,

her vision finally cleared, her mind unobstructed.

she jammed the breaks, she breathed relieve.

she ended it, she was free.
